The Meteorite "Stavropol"Meteorites are called " falling stars ". When many meteorites fly one after another, they are called "meteoric shower". We can observe a lot of meteorites in the sky above the Earth in August, November and April, when the Earth are crossing enormous congestions of a meteoric dust. At Northern Caucasus three fallen meteorites have been found. They are "Stavropol", "Groznaia" ("Terrible") and "Manich". The meteorite "Stavropol" had fallen on March, 24th, 1857 near the village "Petrovskoie". It was a stone meteorite of dark-olive colour. It had length of 132 millimeters, width of 93 millimeters and height of 66 millimeters.
